 The JLA Annual Ice Out Competition has come to a close for 2024! The Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen (HBM) is developing a new 5-year Strategic Plan. 

Praxis Consulting, acting on behalf of HBM, is conducting an important survey to understand your views on township services and priorities.

There has been a lot of interest lately in beginning to reforest the hardest hit areas of our beautiful Jack Lake after May 2022's derecho wind storm. Many lakers have spent considerable time, resources and effort to clean up the after effects of such devastation. Now, the opportunity has arisen through three different providers to give you the opportunity to purchase a variety of native species - including evergreens, deciduous, and shrubs - It has been said that the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago and the next best time is now.

The Electoral Ward System in the Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen (HBM) is up for discussion.

Township Council has moved forward with public consultations to review whether HBM should continue with the current Ward System or to change to 'At-Large" elections of all Councillors.

Currently, HBM Councillors are elected according to the wards that they represent.

Here is a recap of the most recent election held in 2022:

Mayor Jim Martin (elected) 1,640 votes (74.7%)

JLA Buoy Removal

Attention boating Jack Lakers - this is the weekend when our fabulous team of buoy-removing volunteers will be removing JLA buoys around the lake. Please boat with caution as hazards and shoals may/will be unmarked.

The Jack's Lake Association is delighted to announce the 78th Annual Regatta.  The Sailing and Windsurfer Races and the Anna Sweeney Decorated Boat Parade will be held Saturday August 5th and the remaining Regatta events will be held Sunday August 6th. Please see all the details on the Jack's Lake Association website Annual Regatta page.
