SAILBOAT AND WINDSURFER RACES - SHARPES BAY

- Class I: Sunfish, CL11 (or similar);
- Class II: CL14 (or similar);
- Class III: Lasers, CL16 (or similar)
- Class IV: Catamaran;
- Class V: Windsurfer
ANNUAL ANNA SWEENEY DECORATED BOAT PARADE
Time: 2:30 meet in south Callaghan Bay (see route map) Parade starts at 3pm sharp.
Theme: Anything Goes (but if it’s not okay for kids it’s not okay! )
Rules:
- Must pre-register to be eligible to win a prize
- Entry number must be clearly visible on the boat as you pass the judges
- Family-friendly entries only
Judging Criteria:
- Judges rate each boat independently and scores are tallied after the last boat has gone by
- Highest number of points determines the medal standing
- In the event of a tie, the tie stands and two or more boats wino Each entry will be rated on a scale of 1-3 - 3 pts = Excellent / 2 pts = Good / 1 pts = Okay
Judges’ Considerations When Scoring Entries:
- How easy it is to identify the entry’s concept?
- Overall creativity and uniqueness in appearance and presentation?
- Is it a refreshing new idea?
- Does the entry demonstrate thought, time, and effort in design?
- How much is homemade versus store bought?
- Are passengers enthusiastic and contributing to the overall portrayal of the concept?
Medal Awarded for:
- Best Costumes – strongest effort of thematic costumes
- Best Decorated Boat – most elaborate use of decorations
- Most Enthusiastic – most spirited presentation
- Most Creative – ‘Jack Lake Decorated Boat of the Year’
Registration:
- Register in Callahan Bay with the marshal/registration boat at 2:30pm
- You will receive an entry number that must be clearly visible on your boat as you pass the judges.
Medals:
- Winners will be announced at the Regatta on Sunday

MEMBERSHIP & REGISTRATION TABLES OPEN Sunday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- REGISTRATIONIS FREE to MEMBERS OF JLA, THEIR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN
- NON-MEMBERSWELCOME TO JOIN JLA AT THE MEMBERSHIP TABLE THEN REGISTER FOR THE DAY
ORPAY A NOMINAL FEE OF $15 PER PERSON TO PARTICIPATE
REGATTA RULES
- All entrants must be REGISTERED prior to entering an event AND are required to WEAR WRISTBAND
- There must be a minimum of THREE ENTRIES to run an event
- ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
- All persons ATTENDING and/or PARTICIPATING in this event do so at their OWN RISK and shall indemnify and hold harmless all persons connected to this Regatta from any and all claims or losses arising directly or indirectly from the Regatta

8:00 AM IRON MAN Try-Athlon* 5 KM Run, ½ mile Swim across lake, 3 km Bike to start line
Open to 12 + *Bike drop and accompanying swim spotter must be arranged by competitors.
8:45 AM KIDS’ RUN 1.5 Km RACE Public Boat Launch to Shady Lane turnoff & back
Children 8 & under, Girls 9-11, Boys 9-11
9:00 to 9:45 AM DISTANCE SWIM* from Anchorage Marina dock to island
*Note: Strong swimmers only
