The Ice Is Out!

 The JLA Annual Ice Out Competition has come to a close for 2024! The ice is officially out on Jack Lake - at the earliest date recorded since 2012 (which was March 24 at 2:30pm).  Thank you to Ryan Dunkerley from the Anchorage Marina for making the official ‘ice out’ call on Thursday, March 14 at 11:04pm. That means our winner – out of 62 people who submitted their predictions – is Scott Hill who had the luck of the Irish on his side with a St. Patrick's Day guess of 'ice o...

The Township of Havelock Belmont Methuen (HBM) is developing a new 5-year Strategic Plan. 

Praxis Consulting, acting on behalf of HBM, is conducting an important survey to understand your views on township services and priorities.

By completing their straightforward survey, your views will help inform the development of an updated HBM Township 5-year Strategic Plan. Open, candid feedback is greatly appreciated.

There has been a lot of interest lately in beginning to reforest the hardest hit areas of our beautiful Jack Lake after May 2022's derecho wind storm. Many lakers have spent considerable time, resources and effort to clean up the after effects of such devastation. Now, the opportunity has arisen through three different providers to give you the opportunity to purchase a variety of native species - including evergreens, deciduous, and shrubs - It has been said that the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago and the next best time is now.
