Look Out for Loons and Loonlets!
Saturday June 29, 2024
Happy Canada Day long weekend, Jack Lakers! Loon chicks are VERY tiny and VERY fragile right now. Please keep your distance from parents and babies to not cause them distress and please boat extra cautiously - and be mindful of how your wake can wash babies out of their nests or off of their parent's backs, separating small chicks from their parents. Loon chicks cannot dive to get away from boats yet. Please slow down, be very aware of your surroundings and help keep our beloved Jack Lake loons and their chicks safe for another season.Announcements
