Invitation to Participate in the Petroglyphs Butterfly Count

Monday July 09, 2018

Members of the Peterborough Field Naturalists assisted by volunteers of the Jack Lake Association conduct an annual butterfly survey in the area around Jack Lake.  We have recently received an invitation to participate in the 2018 project.  For further information please see below.
The Petroglyphs Butterfly survey is an annual upcoming butterfly count in the area and members of the Jack Lake community are extended a personal invitation to participate.

The Petroglyphs Butterfly Count is on Saturday, July 21I will be doing the north end of Peterborough County Road 46 and the McCoy Bay Road.  We will divide into at two field parties depending on how many people can make it.

I would like to meetat 9 am in the southwestern section of the parking lot of the North Kawartha Community Centre.  This the same time as the Lion’s garage sale so the western part of the parking lot will be full.  However washrooms will be available.  From there we will head east on County Road 504 to McCoy Bay Road.

Volunteers should bring lunch, drinks, butterfly guides, a camera and a net (if you have one).

Please Respond - If you wish to be involved in this butterfly survey let me know as soon as possible.

This is a great way to learn about our butterflies and citizen-science.  If you know others who may be interested please feel free to pass along the invitations.
